Elaine C Deay (Summers)

October 30, 1936 — November 29, 2012

Elaine C. Deay, 76, of Delanson and Brooksville, Fla., died Thursday morning, November 29, 2012 at Ellis Hospital in Schenectady.

Born and educated in Schenectady, she was a graduate of Draper High School.

A former civilian clerk for the Army depot, Elaine was manager of food service for Schalmont Central School for many years. She was a member of Our Lady of Fatima Church in Delanson, the Princetown Seniors and the Duanesburg Historical Society.

Predeceased by her parents, Edward and Veronica (Lajeunesse) Summers Sr. and her brother Edward J. Summers Jr. (Marion),

Elaine is survived by beloved husband, Walter Deay of Delanson; children, Douglas Deay (Barbara Deay) of Charlton and Sandra Niedzwiadek (Dr. Walter Niedzwiadek) of Latham; her brother, Raymond Summers (Carole Perrine) of Rotterdam; four grandchildren, Nicholas and Daniel Niedzwiadek and Lucas and Colin Deay as well as several nieces and nephews.

A visitation will be held on Sunday evening, December 2, 2012 at Bond Funeral Home, Broadway and Guilderland Avenue, Schenectady from 4 to 6 p.m. A memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, December 3, 2012 at 1 p.m. at Our Lady of Fatima Church, Delanson.

Entombment in Schenectady Memorial Park.

Elaine's family is grateful to the Ellis Neuro Science nurses and medical providers for their wonderful care. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Foundation for Ellis Medicine, 1101 Nott St., Schenectady, NY 12308 in her memory.
