Elaine Marie Gerow

October 25, 1940 — February 6, 2024

Elaine Marie (McManus) Gerow, 83, of Summerville, SC was called home to Jesus February 6, 2024.

Elaine was born on October 25, 1940, in Oneonta, NY to the late James McManus and Lilah (Congdon) McManus. She was a graduate of Waterville Central High School in Waterville, NY.

Following graduation, she Married from 1958 -1980, Robert Gerow (deceased). She chose to be a stay-at-home wife and mother. Returned to the workforce full time in 1979 at the Harva Company in Schoharie N.Y. for 20 years. She was a Graduate of Spencers Business Institute in Schenectady, NY.

Upon retirement she worked for Walmart and Workforce Solutions in Cobleskill NY.

Elaine lived her early years in Waterville NY and moved to Sloansville in 1970. She also lived in Scotia, Cobleskill, Rotterdam, Clifton Park and finally, Summerville, SC.

Elaine was predeceased by her parents, James McManus and Lilah Congdon, also two brothers, Grover "Sonny" McManus and Bruce McManus.
She is survived by her sister's Dolores Wines (late, Richard) Eleanor Manion (late, John). Her three daughters Wendy Diaz (late, Elbee) Michelle Leveski (Michael) Tammy Schuckert (Stephen)

12 grandchildren:
Dessa (Adnan Maqsood) Adnan, Kasey (June) Roman, Elis Diaz.

Kristie (Tom) Hotaling, Nicholas (Kassandra) Markessinis,  Trevor (Bailie) Markessinis, Michael (cassandra) Leveski Jr., John (alondra) Leveski,
Andrea’ (John) Turner, William Pitt Jr.,Victoria Pitt, Alaina Gibbons (Todd) 34 great grandchildren,1 great-great grandchild. She also had many beloved nieces, nephews, in-laws and cousins on both sides.

Elaine was a devoted wife, loving, kind, mother, aunt and grandmother. She was always there for her family when they needed help. She loved the beach, reading, painting, and talking to everyone that came her way, but her real passion was spending time with her family. Elaine especially loved Duanesburg Florida Baptist Church which she attended for many years before moving to South Carolina. While in S.C. she attended church online at DFBC.

Anyone who met Elaine loved her. She had a big heart and was one of the kindest people you would ever meet. She lived heart and soul for her children, grandchildren, and followed God to always do what was right. She never had an unkind word for anyone and was always there to lend an ear when someone was having a bad day. Always ending the talk with comforting words, a big warm hug and sound advice.  She was the glue that held our family together and loved by all.

Calling hours will be held Sunday 2/11/24 from 10:30-12:30 at Bond Funeral Home
1614 Guilderland Ave, Schenectady, NY followed by; Elaine's Celebration of Life then food and fellowship at Duanesburg Florida Baptist Church 2:00 7967 NY-30, Delanson, NY

A Christian Burial will be held at Parkview Cemetery at 10:00 AM, Monday 2/12/24.
