Eileen T. Zocco

Eileen Theresa Zocco, 74, of Rotterdam, New York, passed away on September 6, 2026, at St. Peter’s Hospital in Albany. She leaves behind a legacy of compassion, laughter, and love that will remain in the hearts of all who knew her.

Eileen was funny, generous, strong‑willed, outspoken, and entirely her own person. She could make you laugh, tell you exactly what she thought, and her presence filled any room she entered.

She spent much of her life caring for others as a Registered Nurse, including in the Cardiac Operating Room at St. Peter’s Hospital. Nursing wasn’t just her profession — it was part of who she was.

After retiring, she opened Leaner’s Deli, a small breakfast‑and‑lunch pickup and delivery business built on her energy, determination, and love of connecting with people.

Eileen loved golf, traveling, cooking, and experiencing life. She spoke her mind without hesitation and was deeply loving, generous, funny, and fiercely protective of those she cared about. Above all, she adored her grandsons, Maxwell and Noah, and cherished every moment she spent with them.

She is survived by her partner, Nicholas Rizzo; her children, Heide Stofle and Joseph Osterlitz; her grandchildren, Maxwell Stofle and Noah Osterlitz; and her sister, Diane Terry McDonnell. She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Geraldine Terry.

We will miss her voice, her laugh, her stories, her cooking, and the everyday moments that became memories. Most of all, we will miss knowing she was just a phone call away.

We extend our deepest gratitude to the Emergency Room and ICU staff at St. Peter’s Hospital for the compassion and dignity you showed her — and us — during the hardest moments of our lives.

Eileen wasn’t perfect, and she never pretended to be. She was real, strong, complicated, funny, generous, and unforgettable. She was our mom, and we will love her for the rest of our lives.

Rest peacefully, Mom. We will miss you more than words can ever say.

A celebration of Life for Eileen will be Sunday September 13, 2026, at 3PM with visitation from 2-3PM at the Bond Funeral Home 1614 Guilderland Avenue Schenectady.
