Edward Galligan

Edward Galligan (90) of Rotterdam NY passed away peacefully on September 24, 2025.

Ed was a proud retired officer of the Schenectady Police Department retiring in 1987. He also was a member of the United States Marine Corp. Following his retirement from the police, Edward worked at Schenectady Hardware and Electric and was known as a jack of all trades. He was the official family handyman and helped anyone who needed it with projects around their homes. He enjoyed planting and tending his garden and maintaining his yard.

Ed was predeceased by his loving wife, Carmella, who passed away in 2022. He is survived by his sons Edward Galligan of Fort Lauderdale, FL and Michael Galligan (Nicolle) of Niskayuna.

Visitation will be held at the Bond Funeral Home in Schenectady on Monday, September 29th from 5-7 and the Service will be Tuesday, September 30th at 10am with the burial to follow at the Gerald B. H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Schenectady Police Benevolent Association.
