Edmund S. Ostrowski, 89, passed away at Ellis Hospital in Schenectady on Saturday afternoon January 2, 2021.
Born and educated in Schenectady, Edmond was the son of the late Michael and Julia (Bukowa) Ostrowski and a graduate of Nott Terrace High School.
A Korean War Veteran, Edmund was a former line forman for Niagara Mohawk for more than 38 years prior to his retirement in 1990.
A member of the Niagara Mohawk 25 year club, the Day lock fish and game club and a former member of both the Rotterdam Elks and the Iroquois Rod and Gun Club.
Predeceased in 1996 by his wife of 42 years Gertrude M. (Herderich) Ostrowski, Ed was also predeceased by his son Edmund P. Ostrowski and his nine brothers and sisters. Survivor’s include his daughters Laura Hungerschafer (Jon) of Rotterdam and Lynda Ostrowski Gannon (Larry) of Winter Garden, Fl. And several nieces and nephews.
A visitation will be held on Thursday afternoon January 7th at the Bond Funeral Home, Broadway & Guilderland Ave, Schenectady, NY from 12 to 1:30pm. A service will follow the visitation at 1:30 pm.
Interment in Schenectady Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers contributions may be made in Edmund’s memory to the Animal Protective Foundation of Schenectady, 53 Maple Avenue, Scotia, Ny 12302
