Earlene Hyman-Payne 68, born June 18, 1957, in New York City, passed away on December 27, 2025. The cherished only child of James Earl Hyman and Cynthia Smithen, she was raised in New York City, where she completed her high school education and later served in the military.

Earlene dedicated her life to helping others, including roles at the YWCA and Peter Harris, before serving for several decades as a 911 Dispatcher with the Schenectady/Niskayuna Police Department. Known for her quiet strength, resilience, and deep sense of responsibility, she was unwavering in her commitment to her family and community.

After retirement, Earlene continued to serve others during the COVID-19 pandemic as a skip tracer and later found joy working at Proctors Theatre, where she loved learning new things and sharing stories with those around her.

Earlene will be remembered for her perseverance, service, and warmth. She is deeply loved and will be missed by all who knew her.

Services will be held at Bond Funeral Home, 1614 Guilderland Avenue, Schenectady, NY. Viewing begins January 5 at 11:00 a.m., followed by the funeral service at 1:00 p.m.
