Earl G Ostrom

March 17, 1925 — August 23, 2007

Earl A. Ostrom 82 of Rotterdam died Thursday afternoon August 23rd at St Clares Hospital after a short illness. Born in Schenectady, he was the son of the late Leo and Myrtle (Rathbun) Ostrom and a graduate of Mont Pleasant High School and Hudson Valley Community College. An Army veteran of WWII, Earl worked for the General Electric Company for over 36 years, retiring in 1984 as a customer service representative. He was a member of the GE ? century club, the Ballston Spa Country Club and bowled in the senior Bowling Leagues at Sportsman Bowl as well as the Monday and Thursday Morning Bowling Leagues. Earl was predeceased on November 26, 2006 by his wife of 58 years Ruth E. (Hakansson) Ostrom. Survivor's include two children, David E. Ostrom and wife Margaret of Burnt Hills and Rev. Claudia E. Britton and husband Peter of Rotterdam, a brother, Robert Ostrom of Glenville and four grandchildren, Jane Lobosco, Jill Konopka, Elizabeth Ostrom and Emily Ostrom. Funeral services will be held on Monday morning August 27th, 2007 at 10 am at Bond Funeral Home, Broadway & Guilderland Avenue, Schenectady, NY. Calling hours will be held at the funeral home on Sunday evening from 6 to 8 pm. Interment in Schenectady Memorial Park.
