Dwight N. Lewis passed peacefully after battling a courageous fight with Cancer at his Son's residence in Glenville. He grew up in Wellsville, NY where he lived until 1972 when he moved to Troy, NY to attend College and play Football. He worked for 35 years for the Department of Corrections where he retired as a Lieutenant to the Inspector General in 2008. Dwight enjoyed playing Golf in Myrtle Beach and he also enjoyed watching the Buffalo Bills and Boston Red Sox. Dwight was predeceased by his parents Darwin and Genevieve (Whittford) Lewis, and his wife Debra who passed in 2006. He is survived by his children Megan Lewis (Garrett) of Troy, NY Christian Lewis and his wife Erin of Glenville, Kille Lewis of Latham and Kerry DiGrigoli (Josh) of Troy, NY, one brother Ron Hubbard of Leguna Niguel, CA, one special niece Laura Shepard and her husband Ron who have helped tremendously during Dwight's illness, one brother in law Christian Messerle ( Pat) of New Haven, VT, seven Grandchildren- Christian Lewis, Aislinn Lewis, Katherine Lewis, Addison Alberts- Lewis, Emery Alberts- Lewis, Emma Rybicki and Brynn Rybicki as well as many other extended family. A Memorial Service will be Sunday evening 6PM at the Bond Funeral Home Broadway and Guilderland Avenue Schenectady. Relatives and Friends are invited to attend. Visitation will be from 4-6PM prior to the service. Inurnment will be in Albany Rural Cemetery in Menands. Contributions can be made in Dwight's memory to the American Cancer Society 260 Osborne Road Albany, NY 12211.
