Dorothy Eldred Joubert

Dorothy Eldred Joubert, 94, of Rotterdam passed away at Ellis Hospital on Thursday July 5, 2012. Born in Buskirk, NY, she was the daughter of the late Smith and Elizabeth (Mears) Eldred. Dorothy was a graduate of Lansingburgh High School and Morrisville College, receiving a degree in Quantity Cooking. She was a member of the Helderberg Reformed Church in Guilderland for 30 years. Dorothy was a part of the church's Prayer Ministry and worked at the church dinners. She was also a member of the Church Senior's Group-Young at Heart. She loved to work in her garden and furnish her family with stewed tomatoes. Dorothy is predeceased by her husband of 60 years Ronan Morel Joubert whom she married April 20, 1942 and one brother Willis Eldred (Iris). She is survived by one son Eugene Joubert of Broadalbin and one daughter Elizabeth Carey and her companion Norman Scribner of Buskirk, NY, also survived by 4 Grandchildren-Diane Bloom(John), Christopher Carey, Andrew Joubert and Jessica Fasani (Gordon) and 2 Great grandchildren-Jacob Bloom and Grace Bloom. Funeral Services will be Tuesday 11:30AM at the Bond Funeral Home Broadway and Guilderland Avenue Schenectady. A Calling Hour will be 10:30-11:30AM prior to the service. Internment will be in Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery in Schuylerville.
