Dorothy M Countermine

Dorothy M. Countermine 85 formerly of Rotterdam died Wednesday May 30, 2007 at Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester after a short illness. Born in Schenectady, Dorothy was the daughter of the late Arthur and Gertrude (Harding) Hartingstall and a graduate of Nott Terrace High School. Dorothy worked as a secretary in the Schalmont School District at Schonowe School for over ten years before retiring. She was a member of the 2nd Reformed Church of Rotterdam, and the Schonowe Volunteer Fire Department Women's Auxiliary. Dorothy was an avid camper and loved to knit and crochet. She was predeceased in 1992 by her husband of 50 years Andrew W. Countermine and was also predeceased by her daughter Cheryl Kochem and a sister Gertrude Kirchenbauer. Survivors include her son, William A. Countermine and wife Mary lee of Rotterdam, a son-in-law, Peter Kochem of Maryland, a sister Betty Mugits of Gansvooret,4 grandchildren; Bryan Countermine, Michele DeLorenzo ,Aasa Hovey and Heather Carnes and 3 great grandchildren; Corinne VanSchoick, Ricky and Carmine DeLorenzo. Funeral services will be private at the convenience of the family. Interment in Viewland Cemetery in Rotterdam.
