Dorothy L Lamp (Bush)

Dorothy L. Lamp, 87, of Scotia, went home peacefully to be with her husband and son on Wednesday July 13, 2016 at the Firemen's Home in Hudson, NY. Born in Schenectady, she was the daughter of the late Leon and Lorraine (Petit) Bush. Dorothy was employed as a teacher's aide and library assistant for the Schalmont School District specifically at Woestina School. She was a former member of the Woestina Reformed Church. Dorothy was a member of the Rotterdam Junction volunteer fire department's Ladies Auxiliary She also enjoyed volunteering at church and the Woestina Elementary School Library. Dorothy enjoyed making ceramics. She was an avid traveler, and loved to see the world. Dorothy was a dirt track race fan, which she enjoyed attending races with her son and grand daughter. Dorothy loved being with family and friends especially camping with Mary Lou and Bill, She is predeceased by her loving husband John F. Lamp, her son Michael Lamp, her brother Richard Bush and two sisters- Betty Bush Morrisey and Toot Bush. Dorothy is survived by her daughter in law Jeanette Lamp of Scotia, one sister Patricia Crozier of Herkimer and two granddaughters Jo-Anne Lamp and Jessica Gaffney (Tim). Funeral Services for Dorothy will be Saturday July 23, 2016 at 11AM at St. Andrews Episcopal Church 50 Sacandaga Road Scotia. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Calling hours will be Saturday 9-11AM at the church prior to the service. Internment will be in Memory Gardens in Colonie.
