Doris J Sutton

Doris J. Sutton, 86, of McGuire Road Delanson died Tuesday July 25, 2006 at the Dutch Manor in Rotterdam after a short illness. Doris was born in Duanesburg and was the daughter of Lars and Mary (McClaine) Larson. She is a graduate of the Mildred Elley School. Doris was co-owner with her husband of Sutton's Home Mart until 1978. She was a member of the Lynnwood Reformed Church. Doris enjoyed volunteering when she lived in Hendersonville, NC thru the YMCA Swim Program for Special Needs Children. She was the winner of the National YMCA Volunteer of the Year Award in 1997. Doris is predeceased by her husband Robert William Sutton whom she married August 15, 1939 and one brother Howard Larson and one sister Helen Fidler. Survivors include one son Robert W. Sutton Jr. (Lynda) of Jamestown, RI, two daughters Ann Egan ( Donald) of Orchard Park, NY and Carol DeForest ( Rev. William) of Delanson, 8 Grandchildren-Jay Sutton, Larson Sutton, David DeForest, Wendy DeForest Butler, Jonathan DeForest, Jill Egan Catanzaro, Michelle Cyran and Timothy Egan, also survived by 9 Great Grandchildren and Several Nieces and Nephews. A Memorial Service will be Sunday August 6, 2006 at 5PM at Lynnwood Reformed Church 3714 Carman Road Guilderland. Relatives and Friends are invited to attend. A gathering will be held immediately following the service in the Church Fellowship Hall. Inurnment will be in Grove Cemetery, Delanson.
