Doris L. Welch, 86, passed away Saturday evening January 30th at Baptist Health Nursing and Rehabilitation Center surrounded by her family. Born in Clifton Park, Doris is the daughter of the late Vern and Emma (Hatlee) Lake and a graduate of Mechanicville High School. A homemaker and member of St Paul the Episcopal Church, Doris was a compassionate individual who dedicated her life to selflessly caring for others. She was a loving, patient and thoughtful person who was devoted to her family. This woman was remarkably great at remembering to send birthday cards and had a great ability to make everyone feel special. She was a beautiful person with a heart of gold who will be significantly missed. Predeceased in 1994 by her husband of 43 years, Russell L. Welch , she was also predeceased by a daughter Dawn Welch in 1991. She is survived by her beloved children, Lawrence Welch of Broadalbin, Kenneth Welch (Barbara) of Esperance, Louis Welch (Ronna) of Rotterdam, Timothy Welch (Jahninn) of Deltona, Fl., Noreen LaBreck (Michael) of Delanson, Lorraine Martin (Timothy) of Scotia, Vern Welch (Robin) of Rotterdam and Paul Welch (Sharon ) of Rotterdam, a daughter-in-law, Josie Welch of Perth and many grandchildren ,and great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held on Thursday morning February 4th, 2016 at 11 at Bond Funeral Home, Broadway & Guilderland Ave, Schenectady, NY. A visitation will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday evening from 5 to 8 pm, Relatives and friends are invited to attend.
