Doris J Marr (Kenyon)

Doris J. Marr, 90, of Colonie passed away on Thursday December 13, 2018 at Kingsway Arms Nursing Home surrounded by her loving family. Born in Indian Fields, NY, she was the daughter of the late Harold and Phila (Ahlhoff) Kenyon.

She was a graduate of Mont Pleasant High School in Schenectady. Doris was a home maker. She was a member of Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Colonie. Doris was also a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution – Schenectady Chapter, the Ladies Auxiliary of the Disabled American Veterans and various Scottish organizations.

Doris will be remembered as a funny, kind, smart, down to earth soul. She was passionate about history and genealogy.

She is survived by her loving husband Cyril Marr whom she married October 16, 1948, two loving children-Robert Kenyon Marr (Jacqueline) of Schenectady and Janet Plourde (Peter) of Colonie. She is also survived by three loving grandchildren-Kathryn A. Shoemaker, James Kenyon Plourde (Michelle) and Robert K. Marr (Sarah) as well as four loving great grandchildren-Alyssa, Grant, Ceileigh and Cadence.

Funeral Services for Doris will be Tuesday at 10:30AM at the Bond Funeral Home 1614 Guilderland Avenue Schenectady. Visitation will be from 9:30-10:30AM prior to the service.

Interment will be in the Gerald B.H. Solomon-Saratoga National Cemetery in Schuylerville, NY.
