Donald James Leffingwell

Donald J. Leffingwell, 83, passed away early Wednesday morning August 16th at Albany County Nursing Home in Colonie, NY. Born and educated in Schenectady, Donald was the son of the late Clayton and Loretta (Richardson) Leffingwell. A retiree from the Army National Guard, Don was the former owner for over 10 years of Don's Auto Electric and Carburetor Service in Schenectady and later worked for over 20 years for N.Y.S. Department of Military and Naval Affairs. A member of the American Legion Post 1092, Don was also a member of the Forty and Eight Veterans Organization. Predeceased by his sibling's, Gloria Bouleris (Gerry) , Kathleen Panis, Doris Albers and Laurel Leffingwell, Don is survived by his beloved children; Daniel Leffingwell (Debra) of Guilderland and Pamela LaBrake (Henry) of Schenectady, grandchildren; Emily Leffingwell, Renee Crisafulli (Nick), Henry D. LaBrake and Matthew LaBrake, great grandchildren; Nicky and Anthony, brothers; Francis Leffingwell(Lucille), Robert Leffingwell, Raymond Leffingwell(Barbara) and Kenneth Leffingwell, a brother-in-law; Frank Panis, lifelong friends; Hoyt Frasier and family and many nieces and nephews. Funeral service s will be held on Saturday August 19th at 10 am at Bond Funeral Home, Broadway & Guilderland Ave., Schenectady, NY. A visitation will follow Don's service at the funeral home from 10:30 to 11:30 am. Interment with full military honors will be held on Tuesday August 22nd at 11 am at Gerald B.H.
