Donald C Klose

Donald C. Klose Sr., 76, of Westmere died Wednesday November 15, 2006 at St Peter's Hospital surrounded by his family after a short illness. Donald was born in Albany and was the son of the late August and Mary (Haight) Klose. He was a graduate of St. Patrick's Parish School and Christian Brothers Academy in Albany. Donald served in the US Air Force as a Staff Sergeant during the Korean Conflict. He was employed for 31 years at the Tobin's First Prize Meat Packing Company in Albany, finishing there as the Shipping Supervisor. Donald was also employed for 10 years as a Dispatcher for the Hess Oil Co. in Rensselaer, retiring in 1995. He is predeceased by his wife Annabelle Monahan Klose whom he married August 6, 1954.Donald was an avid reader, had a great sense of humor and enjoyed military and political topics. He had a great love for his family especially his Grandchildren. Donald is survived by three children Donald (Deborah) Klose of Schenectady, David (Cathy) Klose of Clifton Park and Lisa (William) Dobbs of Colonie, one brother Richard (Ann)Klose of St. Cloud, Florida, five Grandchildren Christopher Klose, Sandra Klose, Timothy Klose, Heather Klose and Lindsey Dobbs as well as two nephews Brian Klose and Kevin Klose and Several Cousins. Funeral Services will be Monday 9AM at the Bond Funeral Home Broadway and Guilderland Avenue Schenectady followed by A Mass at 10AM at Holy Family Parish( formerly St.Patrick's Church) 279 Central Avenue Albany. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Calling Hours will be Sunday evening 6-8PM at the Funeral Home. Internment will be in Our Lady of Angels Cemetery in Colonie.
