Donald K. DuPont, 86 passed away Wednesday evening February 24th at his home surrounded by his family. Born in Albany, Donald was the son of the late George and Alice Jeannott DuPont. A graduate of Draper High School, Donald served with the United State Army during the Korean War. A police officer for the Town of Rotterdam for over 25 years, Don retired in 1985. He was a member of the Rotterdam PBA, Rotterdam United Methodist Church and the Rotterdam Elks. Donald is survived by his wife of 64 years Reta lee (White) DuPont , his children; Donna-Kay Diehsner of Rotterdam, William C. DuPont (Suzette) of Amsterdam and Kenneth J. DuPont (Patricia) of Elkton, Va., his grandchildren; Leanna DuPont, Kaleena Travis, Melissa Aldrich and Kaitlyn Diehsner and great grandchildren; Natalee, Starra, Evelyn, Alianna, Rayne, Zareena, Alan and Dean. A memorial service will be held on Sunday March 6, 2016 at 3 pm at the Rotterdam United Methodist Church, 1915 Helderberg Avenue, Schenectady, NY 12306. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Interment with military honors at Saratoga National Cemetery. Inlieu of flowers contributions may be made to the Rotterdam United Methodist Church, 1915 Helderberg Avenue, Schenectady, NY 12306.
