Dominic Smarro

Dominic S. Smarro 75 died Wednesday morning January 3, 2007 at St Mary's Hospital in Troy after a long illness. Born in Albany, he was the son of the late Joseph and Antonetta Smarro. An Army veteran, Dominic worked as a machine operator at Star Textile in Albany and had also worked for Albany Gravel before retiring. Dominic is survived by his wife Norma (Stoliker) Smarro who he married on December 29, 1983, his children, Nancy Smarro and Marie Turner (Bruce) of Schenectady, Joseph Smarro ,Matthew Smarro, Alicia Smarro and Felicia Smarro all of Troy , Ralph Smarro(Tina) of Cohoes and Kimberly Bolger (Bill) of Saratoga, a step-son, Thomas Busch of Schenectady, a brother Terrance Smarro of Troy ,2 sisters, Teresa(Rosie)DiNovo of Cohoes and Marie Nucci, 9 grandchildren and several nieces and nephews . Dom was also predeceased by his brother James and sisters Phyllis Pigliavento, Frances Shaw and Carmella Ostrom. Funeral services will be held on Monday afternoon at 12 noon at Bond Funeral Home, Broadway & Guilderland Ave, Schenectady, NY, A visitation will be held from 11 to 12 prior to the service. Interment in Our Lady of Angels Cemetery, Colonie, NY. Contributions may be made to Community Hospice of Rensselaer or to the American Cancer Society.
