Dolores N. (Shannon) DeCarlo,83, passed away on Thursday September 6th at Ellis Hospital surrounded by family. Born in Schenectady,Dolores was the daughter of the late Henry and Pearl (Krajewski) Shinka and was a graduate of Mont Pleasant High School in Schenectady. A former Physical Therapy Aide at Sunnyview Hospital, Dolores had previously been employed by 1st National Bank, Mohonasen School District and the Hallmark Nursing Home. She was a member of the Rotterdam Senior Citizens, the Woestina Young at Heart, St. Gabriel's Church, the St. Gabriel's Women's Club and was a former officer with L.O.R.E. Dolores is survived by her beloved husband of 27 years, Robert J. DeCarlo Sr. of Rotterdam, her children; Gary Shannon (Jamie) of Stanford, CT, Susan Zarzycki (Donald) of Gansevoort, NY and Cheryl Samborin (Michael) of Ballston Lake, her step-children; Jo-Ann Nikolski (Donald) of Rotterdam, Richard DeCarlo of Clifton Park, Gary DeCarlo (Lisa) of Delanson, Robert DeCarlo Jr. of Rotterdam and the late Douglas DeCarlo, her brother Michael Krawczak (Sandy) of Rotterdam and sister; Geri Torncello (Late Frank) of Rotterdam and her grandchildren; Andrew Shannon (Kristie), Alexa Shannon ,Audrey Shannon, Craig Zarzycki, Ben Zarzycki (Mackenzie), Travis Samborin, TJ Samborin, Bobi-Jo Crouse (Ben), Robert DeCarlo Jr.,Josivi DeCarlo, Teia DeCarlo, Gary DeCarlo Jr. and Douglas Karandy, great grandchildren; Reed, Brendon and Braylon and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held on Monday morning September 10th at 9:15 am at Bond Funeral Home, Broadway & Guilderland Avenue, Schenectady, NY followed at 10 am at St Gabriel Church, 3040 Hamburg Street, Schenectady where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. A visitation for Dolores will be held at the funeral home on Sunday evening from 4 to 7 pm. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Interment will be in St Adalbert Cemetery in Rotterdam, NY. Contributions may be made in Dolores memory to St Gabriel's Church, 3040 Hamburg Street, Schenectady, NY 12303
