Diana Wiklund

Diana L. Wiklund, 65, of Schenectady, was truly "One of a Kind." She lived with an unshakable spirit and a belief in her own immortality. Yet, when the pain became too much to bear, she embraced her final moments grace and love, she asked, "Missy, I am Happy, are you happy?" She spoke of the beauty of heaven, where she would reunite with her beloved parents and her iconic motorcycle-riding poodle, Angel.

In 2008, Diana faced a rare Pancoast tumor with a prognosis of less than 6 months.  Diana was a warrior, and she lived with unwavering grace for 14 years.

Diana, a cherished mother (in law), grandmother, niece, sister, aunt, and dear friend, left us on April 5, 2022. Her life was an extraordinary journey, defined by adventure, love, and selflessness.

Diana had an incredible sense of humor, a beautiful laugh, and a razor-sharp wit. Above all, she held her family close to her heart, making countless sacrifices for her daughter, Melissa. Diana's compassion extended beyond her family. Diana was thoughtful and kind. She listened without judgment and gave without expectation.

Her legacy lives on through her grandson, who admired her greatly, and through Melissa, who regarded her not just as a mother but as her dearest friend.

Diana was known as "the belle of the ball" by her aunt, radiating a vibrant personality and magnetic charm.

Despite the many obstacles and hardships she faced throughout her life, at the end of her life she accepted the limitations she faced due to health challenges with grace and never complained.

As she embarks on her next journey, Melissa wishes her mother eternal peace surrounded by the love she so richly deserves. Her indelible footprints on this world can never be erased.
