David Howard Surin

David Howard Surin, June 2, 1968 - July 30, 2016, 48 years of age. He was born in Bellevue Maternity Hospital, Niskayuna, N.Y. He passed away at Lawnwood Regional Medical Center, Fort Pierce, Florida, of a severe heart attack. He is survived by his parents Paul A and Joan Zapp Surin., his brothers Michael J and Kathy Cotugno Surin, Stephen P. Surin, Joseph P and Casondra Surin, deceased brother John A Surin. Aunt Mary Ann Petricca, God Child to Uncle Ronald and Aunt Phyllis Surin Ziobroski. He is also survived by 12 nieces, nephews and 4 greats, and several cousins. He especially loved his godchild Katlyn Nicole Surin. He was a graduate of Draper High School, Cortland State College, and several job related technical degree programs. While at Draper High School, he was class president, his senior year. He participated in sports, music and drama. He was on the swim team at Cortland. He played Rotterdam Little League, Babe Ruth and Mickey Mantle. He worked and managed Surin Busing Inc.. He also drove and managed at Boston Buffalo. David managed at ABC Waste Management. He was also certified at Dominion Power as a lineman. He was commander of the SAL for American Legion Post 162 of Lorton, Va.. David was also a member of Moose Lodge 1822 Vero Beach, Florida, Spanish Lakes HOA, Bocce Club, and Men's Golf League. He was an avid golfer and fisherman. Most of all, he was generous to everyone, willing to drop everything. A son at his parent's side, a brother always willing to help out, an Uncle with unending patience, a neighbor to everyone he met. Funeral Services for David will be Thursday August 11, 2016 at 11AM at the Bond Funeral Home Broadway and Guilderland Avenue Schenectady. Calling Hours will be Wednesday evening 5-8PM at the funeral home. Internment will be in Holy Cross Cemetery in Rotterdam A block of rooms are being held at a bereavement rate at the Belvedere Inn, 1926 Curry Rd, Schenectady, NY 12303 for out of town guest in need of lodging.
