David Floyd Peck, age 75, passed away Tuesday, Feb. 6, 2018, at Albany Medical Center surrounded by his family after falling on the ice outside his home in Rotterdam Junction, New York. He was born in Niskayuna, New York, on November 10, 1942. He was predeceased by his parents Floyd A. and Enid (Henry) Peck. He married Judith A. (Huestis) Peck in April 1975. He is survived by his sister Ellen Strait (Larry) and brother Richard E. Peck, and by his children Pamela Peck, Michael Peck (Pamela), Bryan Peck (Angelique), Ellen Luther (Dana), and Matthew Peck (Lori), grandchildren Bryan Peck, Jr. (Megan), Nicolas Peck, Christopher Caraco, Ryan Caraco, Jonathan Peck, Paige Peck, Matthew Caraco, Adriana Luther, Benjamin Van Raalte, and Alex Peck. And three great grandchildren, Trinity Peck, Emma Peck and Kayden Luther. Dave attended Shenendehowa schools and graduated from the State University of New York at Cobleskill in 1962. He worked at General Electric and owned D & J Industrial Service for 17 years retiring in 2004. Dave enjoyed driving a school bus for Mohonasen School District for the last 14 years. He was very active in the Rotterdam Elks for many years serving as their treasurer for the past three years, exalted ruler 1998-99, and Capital District Grand Exalted Ruler in 2005. Some of his favorite pastimes were watching NASCAR racing, playing and watching golf, rooting for the NY Giants and the NY Yankees. Dave's favorite times involved his children and grandchildren and he had an especially great time talking politics with anyone. The family asks that in lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Schenectady Inner City Ministry (SICM) Food Pantry or Community Hospice. Special thanks to the neurological ICU staff at Albany Medical Center. A graveside service and celebration of life will be held on Monday August 6.
