David A Lyons

David A. Lyons 75 of Schenectady died early Thursday morning July 5, 2007 at home surrounded by his family. Born in Baltimore, MD, David was the son of the late Wallace and Carrie Lyons. An Air Force veteran from 1948 to 1951, David worked as a winder in Large Steam Turbine at the General Electric Company for over38 years before retiring in 2006. He was a member of the GE ? century club and the Duryee A.M. E. Zion Church in Schenectady. David loved spending his time with his family and enjoyed playing the organ and piano. David was predeceased by his two sons, Mark S Lyons and Todd D. Lyons. Survivors include his wife of 55 years Marilyn J. (Roby) Lyons who he married on December 15, 1951, three daughters, DaviLyn L. Lyons, Cory C. Chaires-Lyons and Jody L. Lyons all of Schenectady, three brothers Horace, Tyrone and Raymond Bass all of Baltimore, MD five grandchildren, Madrea Chaires-Lyons, Frankie Guzman-Lyons, Theodore Lyons, Mark Lyons and Kaliah Griffin and a great grandchild Ajaya Guzman. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday July 10, 2007 at 12 noon at Bond Funeral Home, Broadway& Guilderland Avenue, Schenectady, NY. A calling hour will be held at the funeral home from 11 am to 12 noon prior to the service. Interment will be held private in Evergreen Memorial Park.
