David "Mike" Heron

David "Mike" Heron,76, passed away late Thursday night January 24th at Wesley Health Care Center in Saratoga Springs after a long illness.

Born in St. Louis, Missouri, Mike was the son of the late John and Mary (Lee) Heron.

After high school, Mike served with the United States Navy from 1963 till 1967.

A carpenter by trade, he was a creative artist who could build wonderful pieces from just about nothing.

Beside his mother and father, Mike is predeceased by his daughter, Laura and his brother Jack. He is survived by his children;David Heron (Cindy) of Smithfield, Va.,Kelly Spiak (Michael) of Greenfield Center,NY and Maxwell Heron of Schenectady, his siblings, Patrick Heron of CA., Mary Lou Magil of Altamont, NY, Daniel Heron of Rexford, Larry Heron of Florida,Timothy Heron of Texas and Janice Fox of Stillwater, he is also survived by his 5 grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

A memorial celebration of Mike's life will be held at Crossroadz Church, 18 Main Street, Rexford, NY on Saturday February 2, 2019 at 11 am to which relatives and friends are invited to attend. Inurnment with full military honors will be held at Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery on Friday February 1,2019 at 2:30 pm.
