The Life of Daulina Marie Taylor It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Daulina Marie (Lewis) Taylor, 75, of Rotterdam New York, formerly of Bloomfield Connecticut and Boston Massachusetts on Friday, March 24, 2017. She died in the arms of her husband of 52 years, Robert Taylor. She was born to the late George Lewis and Beatrice (Nelson) Lewis on June 1, 1941 as the second of five siblings. Besides her husband Robert, Daulina is survived by two children, Kenneth Taylor, Angeline (Taylor) Schell and her nephew, foster child, Michael Bryant, whom she considered as her own son. She is also survived by her sisters, Carol Jones, Marilyn Lewis, Annestine Lewis, and her brother, George Lewis. Daulina also leaves behind her prized grandchildren, Logan and Lana Schell, her cherished nieces, Victoria (Jones) Garmany, Laurel Jones, and a host of relatives. Daulina grew up in the Roxbury section of Boston and displayed a very high level of intelligence at a very young age, reading stacks of books she would collect, excelling in school and tutoring others. Memorizing bible verses and lengthy poetry was a favorite pastime, as well as traveling extensively and learning languages - particularly French. She loved reading, cats, classical ballet, classical music, Motown music and Broadway musicals. She was a dedicated and knowledgeable Executive Secretary for many years at CIGNA Corporation, eventually branching into IT support. She was baptized as one of Jehovah's Witnesses in 1958, and remained an active member up until her demise, for 59 years. She experienced her greatest joy when imparting her spiritual heritage and bible education to her children and helping neighbors to come to an accurate knowledge of God's Word, the Bible. She worked tirelessly on behalf of her children's spiritual growth and enriched their lives with dance and music lessons, interesting vacations, and exposure to a variety of cultural activities and events - from the Bolshoi and opera to Cab Calloway and the Platters. Daulina regularly held gatherings at her home where all were welcome and countless friends and bible students received hospitality and refreshment. Despite life's challenges, she held steadfast to her spiritual routine. She never missed reading a Watchtower or Awake magazine, and never missed reviewing with her children the weekly bible study, Watchtower study and a bible-based publication needed for the family. She regularly took time from work to engage in a full-time ministry with her children. At the same time, she assisted her local congregation in countless ways, was a loyal friend to many - assisting them greatly in ways unbeknownst to others. Her practical, bible-based advice and warm companionship will be missed until we see her again under God's Kingdom rule. Services will be held in both Bloomfield, Connecticut and Guilderland Center, New York.
