Daniel Siobhan Nicholas

Daniel J. Nicholas 91 of Schenectady died Monday morning February 6, 2006 at home after a long illness. Born in Maynard, MA, he was the son of the late Joseph and Julia (Hattie) Nicholas. A 1937 graduate of Hamilton College, Daniel was a Phi Beta Kappa. An accountant, Daniel worked for the GE for 41 years retiring from KAPL in the late 1970's.He was a member of Immaculate Conception Church and its Holy Name Society, the G.E. ? century club and the Elfun Society. Daniel was also a former president and organizer of the Bellevue Little League and former past president of the Schenectady Park and Recreation Baseball League. Daniel was predeceased in 2002 by his wife of 64 years Tessie (Abraham) Nicholas who he married June 26, 1938, a brother Nicholas Nicholas and a sister Anna Parker. Survivors include his children Daniel J. Nicholas Jr. (Gail) of Schenectady and Kathleen A. Ferrucci (Samuel) of Scotia, his grandchildren; Julie Cummings(Richard) of Rotterdam, Dr. David Nicholas (Maureen) of Cobleskill, Steven Nicholas (Grace) of Broadview Heights, OH, Karla Fraterrigo (Michael) of Scotia and Sasha Ferrucci of Scotia, his great grandchildren; Maya, Tessa, Daniel and David Nicholas, Benjamin and Adrianna Nicholas, Brianna Cummings, Braeden and Griffin Fraterrigo and a sister-in law Sally Abraham of Utica. Funeral services will be held Friday morning February 10, 2006 at 10:15 am at Bond Funeral Home, Broadway & Guilderland Ave, Schenectady, NY followed at 11 am at Immaculate Conception Church, Bradt Street, Schenectady where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. A calling hour will be held at the funeral home Friday morning from 9:15 am to 10:15am prior to the funeral service. Interment in Most Holy Redeemer Cemetery.
