Obituary Daniel J Cunha III

GREAT BARRINGTON, MASSACHUSETTS - Daniel J Cunha III, 81, died after a long illness while living in Tymberlyn Heights Nursing & Rehabilitation Center. He was born in Troy, NY, on June 9, 1943. The son of the late Daniel J Cunha (Siena Basketball College for 22 years), and Doris Well Cunha.

He was raised In Watervliet, NY and frequently participated in sports including Watervliet Civic Center, Little League and the city Swimming Pool. He graduated from  Catholic Central High School in Troy.

Danny was a US Army veteran during the Vietnam war serving as a medic in Turkey. Married to Elizabeth (Beth) Ann Sears with 3 children .  Colleen Cunha Sirtori who resides in Cohoes with her husband Albert Sirtori and their 3 children. Francesco A Sirtori,  and their twins Tyler A Sirtori and Theresa E Sirtori.  Daniel S (Scott) Cunha resides in Troy, NY and a daughter Valerie S Cunha who has 2 children Olivia R Cunha and Caleb I Sticles. Bruce J Cunha son died previously and his son Shawn J Cunha. Danny has a  sister Patricia Cunha Novak who died in 2009. A sister Barbara Cunha Parker who resides in Albany, NY. A brother David E. Cunha who resides in Princess Anne , MD. A sister Mary Jean Cunha Nelson who resides in Coventry, Ct.

The family wishes to thank Danny’s cherished family for the many acts of kindness provided to him during his long illness before passing. The funeral will be held at Bond Funeral Home 1614 Guilderland Ave, Schenectady, NY on Thursday, January 30, 2025 at 10:30 am. As a veteran he will have a National Service at Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery 200 Duell Road, Schuylerville, NY, 12871.  at 1:00 pm Thursday January 30, 2025.
