Cyril E R Harris Sr.

Cyril E. R. Harris, Sr., born November 30, 1930, passed away peacefully on March 8, 2026, at the age of 95.

A proud veteran of the U.S. Navy, Cyril served from 1948 to 1968. His military career took his family on a journey from Schenectady, New York, to Virginia, Japan, California, and Texas before eventually returning home to Schenectady.

While in Trinidad, Cyril met the love of his life, Agnes June. Their 77-year marriage stood as a testament to their devotion and partnership.

After retiring from the Navy, Cyril worked several jobs before achieving his dream of singing with The Ink Spots. In later years, he devoted himself to art, creating hundreds of original pieces that reflected his creativity and passion.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Agnes; seven children: Robert (Jacque), Barbara, Brian, Cyril Jr. (Araceli), Donna (Gary), Dwayne (Sue), and Liza (Tony). He also lovingly helped raise three grandchildren—Shana, Aseba, and Brianne—and leaves behind many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and extended family.

He was preceded in death by his infant son, John.

Cyril lived a life defined by service, faith, creativity, and deep devotion to his family.
