Cynthia R. Chase, born April 26, 1952 passed away on November 22, 2018. She was known simply as "Chase" by those who knew and loved her. Chase was the very definition of the phrase "one of a kind." She lived her life her way, without apology. Chase attended K-12 at Draper School, in Rotterdam, NY, and graduated from Plattsburgh State, with a degree in Psychology. Chase was generous, to a flaw. She was dedicated to public service her entire life, enlisting in the United States Army after she graduated from college, and for over twenty years devoting her culinary talents in a community residence for people with developmental disabilities. Many will recall Chase behind the bar at Amelia's or the Falcon, taking care of everyone and making people laugh. Chase loved music, danced at the clubs and picked a great selection on any juke box. She loved Galway Lake, having a summer camp there her entire life. We know she's there in spirit. She is predeceased by her parents, Dot and Art Chase and is survived by her sister Karen, brother-in-law, David, and many cousins and close friends There will be a Memorial Service on Saturday December 1st, at 1:00 at Bond Funeral Home at 1614 Guilderland Ave., Schenectady, NY. Donations in her name may be made to the Greater Galway Food Pantry, PO Box 31, Galway, NY 12074.
