Christopher J. Igo. 93, of Rotterdam passed away on Saturday March 4, 2017 at Ellis Hospital in Schenectady. Born in Albany, NY. he was the son of the late Peter and Delia (O'Gorman) Igo. He was a graduate of Albany High School. Christopher served his country in the Army during World War 2. Christopher was employed as a foreman for over 30 years at the J. Becker and Sons truck body building shop in Albany. He was a member of the Guilderland Elks and the Moose Lodge. Christopher was a member of Our Lady Queen of Peace Church in Rotterdam. Christopher's most cherished moments were spending time with his family. He loved the family holiday get togethers. Christopher loved life. He enjoyed traveling with Bernice. And he always enjoyed the sound of laughter. He is predeceased by one grandson Steven Igo. Christopher is survived by his loving wife Bernice L. Liberatore whom he married June 25, 1983. He is survived by his loving children Suzanne Igo of Clifton Park, Sandra Andi (James) of Mont Pleasant, SC, Gale Cole (Michael) of Albany, Christine Ball (Wayne) of Briarwood, TX and Steven Igo of Colonie, his loving step children James McCafferty of Guilderland, Dennis McCafferty and Kathleen Glasser (Wayne) of Pattersonville, his loving sisters Mary Shearer of California and Rose Samson of California. Christopher is also survived by 8 loving grandchildren, 6 loving step grandchildren and 7 loving great grandchildren. Funeral Services for Christopher will begin on Wednesday at 9:15AM at the Bond Funeral Home 1614 Guilderland Avenue Schenectady followed by a Mass at 10AM at Our Lady Queen of Peace Church 210 Princetown Road Rotterdam. A calling hour will precede the service from 8:15-9:15AM at the funeral home. Entombment will be in St. Cyril and Method Cemetery in Rotterdam. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made in Christopher's memory to Our Lady Queen of Peace Church 210 Princetown Road Schenectady, NY 12306.
