Chester Snyder 86 died Monday afternoon February 20, 2006 at Ellis Hospital in Schenectady. Born in Wibaux, Montana, Chester was the son of William and Frances Snyder. An army veteran of WWII, Chester served with the 551st Field Artillery Battalion. He worked for the General Electric Company for over 34 years retiring in 1982 as a crane operator. He was a member of the Church of St Adalbert, the GE ? century club and a former member of VFW Post 357. Chet was predeceased in 1994 by his wife Jane (Kozlowski) Snyder who he married June 1, 1946. He was also predeceased by his brothers Edward, Charlie, Walter and Edmund and sister's Pauline and Clara. Survivors include his daughters, Kathleen J. Butler (Karl) of Duanesburg and Patricia A. Crocker ( Tom) of Richmond, VA, a brother Richard Snyder of California, a sister Helen Litke of Glenville, five grandchildren, Karri Adkins, Randy Crocker, Aimee Crocker, Karla Butler and Kurt Butler , two great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held Friday morning February 24, 2006 at 8:15 am at Bond Funeral Home, Broadway & Guilderland Ave., Schenectady, NY followed at 9 am at the Church of St Adalbert where a Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated. Calling hours will be held at the funeral home Thursday evening from 6 to 8 pm. Interment in St Adalbert Cemetery, Rotterdam, NY.
