Charlotte M. Schaperjahn 69 of Oakdale Avenue died Tuesday November 16, 2004 at the Avenue Nursing and Rehabilitation Center after a short illness. Born in Schenectady she is the daughter of Mildred (Roehr) Mathias of Schenectady and the late William Mathias. A graduate of Mont Pleasant High School, Charlotte worked at the Schenectady County Library while in school, and then later worked for the Schenectady Savings Bank in Bellevue while attending college at Albany State Teachers College. She worked as an elementary school teacher for several years at Euclid, Brandywine and Van Corlaer Schools. Later in life Charlotte worked as a teller at Key Bank in Bellevue until her retirement on April 1, 1994. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, where she served as a receptionist, a Deaconess, a ministers Deaconess, Book Stall, Lenten Lunches and other church groups. Beside her mother she is also survived by her husband Edward H. Schaperjahn whom she married November 23, 1957, a son Edward H. Schaperjahn and wife Jan of Hannibal, NY, a sister Wilma Stekeur of Guilderland, two grandchildren Kelley Lynn and Thomas Schaperjahn and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held Friday afternoon at 2 pm at First Presbyterian Church, 209 Union Street, Schenectady, NY. Calling hours will be held Thursday from 3 to 5 pm and 7 to 9 pm at Bond Funeral Home, Broadway & Guilderland Avenue, Schenectady, NY. Internment in Schenectady Memorial Park, In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the First Presbyterian Church Kitchen Fund, P.O. Box 6, Schenectady, NY 12301
