Charles Basil Ross

Charles B. Ross, 89, of Schenectady passed away at home on Saturday July 23, 2016 surrounded by his loving family. Born in Fayette, Indiana, he was the son of the late Oscar and Fannie (Rowland) Ross. Charles served his country proudly in the US Navy during World War 2. Charles was passionate about his work. He was employed as a crane operator for 60 years for Local 106 in Albany. He was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed hunting and fishing. Charles enjoyed reading stories and telling stories about his past. He was always a lot of fun. Charles was predeceased by his loving wife Geraldine R Ross whom died in 2011. Charles is survived by his loving children, Daniel Ross (Robin) of Pattersonville, Donna Rummel (William) of Maryland, Kathleen Egan (Michael) of Amsterdam and Kellie Wotherspoon (Dale) of Rotterdam Junction, one step daughter Debbie Jimenez of Alabama, one sister Betty Lamb of Indiana, also survived by several grandchildren, great grandchildren and great, great grandchildren as well as several nieces and nephews. The family also wishes to acknowledge his caregiver of many years Carol Dugan. Funeral services for Charles will be private at the convenience of the family. Internment with full military honors will be at the Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery in Schuylerville Arrangements are by the Bond Funeral Home Broadway and Guilderland Avenue Schenectady.
