Charles A Rollins

April 21, 1909 — October 4, 2005

Charles A. Rollins of Garner Avenue died Tuesday afternoon October 4, 2005 after a long illness. Born and educated in Schenectady, he was the son of the late Hamilton and Mary Elizabeth Baldwin Rollins. A 1930 graduate of the General Electric Apprentice Course, Charles worked for the G.E. for over 46 years before retiring in 1974. He was a member of the Emmanuel Friedens Baptist Church and its choir, he was past president of the GE ? century club, the G. E. Apprentice Alumni Association and Northside little league. He was also a member of the Octavo singers and sang at St. Georges Episcopal Church. Charles was predeceased in 1967 by his wife of 31 years Lillian Hoffman Rollins. Survivors include two sons; Robert A. Rollins and wife Beverly of Salt Lake City, Utah and Edwin C. Rollins of Niskayuna, four grandchildren; Stephen Rollins (Jessica) of Salt Lake City, Major Jennifer Rollins USAF, Rapid City, South Dakota, Tracey Abbott (Steve) of Hadley and Marcia Cognetta (Paul) of Rexford, three great grandchildren; Abigail and Savanna Rollins of Salt Lake City and Matthew Belden of Hadley. Funeral services will be held Saturday morning October 8, 2005 at 11 am at the Bond Funeral Home, Broadway & Guilderland Ave, Schenectady, NY. Calling hours will be held at the funeral home on Saturday from 9:30 to 11 am prior to the funeral service. Internment in Memory's Garden, Colonie ,NY. Contributions may be made in his memory to the Emmanuel Friedens Baptist Church, 218 Nott Terrace, Schenectady, NY 12307 or to Community Hospice, 1411 Union Street, Schenectady, NY 12309
