Charles J. Lewandowski III, 49, passed away Thursday early morning February 1st at Schenectady Center for Rehabilitation and Nursing. Born and educated in Schenectady, Charles is the son of Charles J. and Dorothy (Cooke) Lewandowski Jr. and a graduate of Schalmont High School. A field supervisor for Charlew Construction Company, Inc for 18 years, Charlie was an avid golfer, enjoyed remote control race cars, snowmobiling, his camp on Sacandaga Lake and spending time at the Duanesburg Diner with his friends for breakfast. Charlie's greatest love was spending time with his family. Predeceased by his brother Curtis John Lewandowski and his nephew David Longo Jr., Charlie is survived by his mom and dad, Dorothy and Charles Lewandowski Jr. of Duanesburg, his siblings; Corey J. Lewandowski (Tricia) of Schenectady, Helen M. Murphy (Gerald) of Rotterdam and Elizabeth Longo (David) of Duanesburg, his former wife and friend Tiffany of Rotterdam and his nieces and nephews; Alicia, Erin and Breanne Lewandowski, Sarah and J.J. Murphy and Nick Longo. Funeral services will be held private at the convenience of his family. Interment will be in Memory's Garden in Colonie, NY In lieu of flowers contributions may be made in Charlie's memory to the Animal Protective Foundation, 53 Maple Avenue, Scotia, NY 12302
