Charles Goodwin Sr

Charles H. “Pocky” Goodwin Sr. 63, passed away on Monday afternoon July 10th at Ellis Hospital in Schenectady, NY.


Born in Buffalo, NY, Charles was the son of the late Frederick and Shirley (Bull) Goodwin and a graduate of Watervliet High School in 1978.


A Truck Driver for the past 7 years for Adirondack Beverage Company in Scotia, Charles had held many jobs in the Diesel Mechanic Industries. A member of the N.R.A., the Iroquois and Dunnsville Rod and Gun Clubs, Charles was a Gun Enthusiast. A World War Two aficionado, he was a volunteer Schenectady Peace Officer and the S.P.C.A.

Charles is survived by his beloved wife of 39 years, Irene K. (Niciu) Goodwin, his children, Charles “CJ” Goodwin Jr (Erin) of Rotterdam, Loreen Evans (David) of Rotterdam, Lindsay Althiser (Charlie) of Delanson and Amanda Goodwin (Eddie Mooney) of Watervliet, a sister, Donalyn Kloster (Alfred) of Schenectady, his 5 grandchildren CJ, Ava, Madison, Ariella and Audrey, his canine companion Rocky and several nieces and nephews.


Funeral services will be held on Friday July 14th at 12 noon at Bond Funeral Home, Broadway & Guilderland Avenue, Schenectady, NY. A visitation will be held at the funeral home from 10 to 12 noon prior to the funeral service.

Interment will follow in New Rural Cemetery, East Greenbush, NY.
