Charles H. Barrie, 90, passed away on Friday evening June 17, 2016 at Ellis Hospital in Schenectady. Born in Schenectady, Charles was the son of the late Charles and Alice (Kilmer) Barrie, father of the late Mindy Ann Mosher and brother of the late Robert Barrie, Dorothy Dorsch and Joan Pauling. A World War II Navy veteran, Charles worked in sales for Friehofer Baking Company for 17 years and was the last horse and buggy driver for the Friehofer Company. Charles later worked as a welder for the General Electric Company and retired after 17 years of service. A former member of Christ Church Episcopal in Schenectady, Charles was an avid bowler, member of 4 bowling league's and a diehard NY Yankee fan. Survived by his wife Catherine (Brower) Barrie who he married July 25, 1948, his sons; Charles H. Barrie (Kathleen) of Queensbury and Michael D. Barrie (Mary) of Rotterdam, his sister; Eileen Rowley of Tacoma, Washington, as well as 8 grandchildren , 5 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held private at the convenience of the family at Evergreen Memorial Park Abby, 2150 Central Avenue, Schenectady, NY 12304. There will be no calling hour by request. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Baptist Health Nursing and Rehabilitation center, 297 N. Ballston Avenue, Scotia, NY 12302
