Catherine H. D'Alessandris

October 12, 1941 — January 16, 2025

Catherine Hilko D’Alessandris (Bilks), 83, of Schenectady, New York passed away peacefully on January 16, 2025.  She was born on October 12, 1941 in Schenectady, New York to the late Joseph Hilko and Catherine Sarnecky.  She was also predeceased by her brother Joseph Hilko.  A lifelong resident of Schenectady, Cathy graduated from Mont Pleasant High School in 1959 and later attended Mildred Elley School where she graduated in 1960 with a degree in Secretarial Studies. For over 39 years, Cathy was employed at Knolls Atomic Power Laboratory where she made lifelong friends and was involved in purchasing and payroll.

On Easter Sunday, 1963, Cathy met the love of her life Joseph D’Alessandris. They were blessed to spend 63 wonderful years together and were married for 56 years much of it spent traveling the world. Cathy and Joe’s great adventures brought them to Hawaii, England, France, Italy, Spain, Portugal and Turkey. They also enjoyed over 30 cruises together where they visited Alaska, Bermuda, Nova Scotia and various Caribbean Islands.  Cathy and Joe had a mutual passion for stock car racing, which began at Fonda Speedway and carried onto Daytona Speedway. Cathy enjoyed the theater where she shared her love and enthusiasm for a good show with her husband and family members. She always looked forward to family cruises, which she enjoyed planning, and her trips to Las Vegas.  In her spare time, Cathy loved going to the casinos and enjoyed monthly luncheons with her K.A.P.L retirees. Cathy will be remembered for her undeniable love for her family and her generosity to them all.  She will also be remembered for her elegant and timeless style, her sharp quick wit, and her generosity to various charities.

Cathy is survived by her loving and devoted husband Joseph D’Alessandris, her younger brother Philip (Adelia) Hilko, sister-in-law Lynne Hilko, brother–in laws Vincent (Barbara) D’Alessandris and Donald (the late Linda) D’Alessandris, sister-in-laws Mary (Paul) Cieszynski and Lynn D’Alessandris. Catherine was dedicated to her family and her many nieces and nephews were like her children; Brett (Angelina) Hilko, Breanna (Raymond) Kearney, Mary Kay Hilko, Julie Ann Hilko, Katelyn Hilko, Michele Zebrowski, Lori Condon, Sue Albright, Paul Cieszynski, Kristie Tomaselli, Gina Faucett, Donald D’Alessandris, Toni Ann Smith, along with her beloved great nieces and nephews, Dominick and Gianna Hilko, Raymond, Jayce and Brynlee Kearney, Lorenzo Tomaselli, Caitlyn Squires, Daniel Albright, Vincent Hartley, Danielle Harper, Stefania Zebrowski, Lora and Jamie Condon, Joseph Burke, Dale and CJ Smith, and one great great niece McKenzie Squires.

Funeral services for Cathy will be held at Bond Funeral Home, 1614 Guilderland Ave, Schenectady, New York 12306 on Tuesday evening at 7 pm.  Visitation will be held prior 4-7 pm.
