Catherine E Coffey

On January 24th, surrounded by her loving family, God and all of his angels and those who have gone before her called Catherine E. Harrison Coffey 92, of Schenectady, home. Catherine was born in Schenectady, NY on December 21, 1915 to Francis and Mary Clowes Harrison. The twinkle in Kate's eye was an inspiration to her family and friends. She gave us our confidence, self respect, family values, compassion and especially our sense of humor. She taught us how to have fun and how to laugh at ourselves. Thank you Mom, Thank you Kate, Thank you Gram. Catherine was predeceased by her loving husband, Bernard H. Coffey, in 1976 and three sisters, Mary Harrison, Margaret McCleary and Dorothy Monosmith. Survivors include Catherine's three children, Michael F. Coffey (Marjorie) of Saratoga Springs, James p. Coffey (Sandra) of Ganesvoort and Kathleen Heron (Daniel) of Rexford, nine grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren and one brother, W. Francis Harrison (Elaine) of Schenectady and several nieces and nephews. A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Monday morning January 28th at 10 am at St John the Evangelist Church, Union Street, Schenectady. Calling hours will be private at the convenience of the family. Interment in Most Holy Redeemer Cemetery. At the family's request, In Lieu of Flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Multiple Sclerosis Society of Upstate N.Y., 421 New Karner Road, Albany NY 12205 or to a charity of one's choice.
