Catherine Fanales (Carrieri)

Catherine “Kitty” Fanales,98 passed away Peacefully with her family by her side on Saturday August 7th at Baptist Health Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Scotia, NY

Born in Jessup, Pa, Catherine was the daughter of the late Luigi and Maria (Mastrandrea) Carrieri.

Educated in Schenectady, NY, Kitty was a former employee of the General Electric Company and a Licensed Practical Nurse, Catherine was a member of Our Lady of Mt Carmel Church, the Elks Club, the League of Women’s Voters and was very active in prayer groups with the local churches.

Catherine was predeceased by her husband Gaetano Fanales, her parents and her siblings, Michael Carrieri Mary Sabatini, Nicolletta Carrieri, Helen Lazzari and Gina Carrieri and her former husband Joseph Ventresca.

She is survived by her beloved children Louis J Ventresca (Darcy) of Colonie and Stephen M. Ventresca (Marlene) of Latham, her grandchildren Daniel Ventresca of Scotia, Nicholas Ventresca of Niskayuna and Alicia Gorski (Jeff) of Potsdam, great grandchildren Dominick, Alexandra and Vincent Gorski and several nieces and nephews.

A mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday morning August 12, 2021 at 10 am at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church, 1255 Pleasant Street, Schenectady, NY 12303. Relatives and friends are invited to attend.

Interment in St Cyril’s Cemetery, Rotterdam, NY

In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the Baptist Nursing Home in Scotia our to the Rotterdam Boys and Girls Club in her memory.
