Carolyn "Carrie" Marocco

April 8, 1913 — March 20, 2016

Carolyn "Carrie" Marocco 102 passed away on Sunday evening March 20th at Baptist Health Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. Born and educated in Schenectady, Carrie was the daughter of the late John and Theresa Maiorano and a graduate of Nott Terrace high School. A homemaker, Carrie was a member of Our Lady Queen of Peace Church and a former parishioner of Immaculate Conception Church for over 60 years. A past president and member of the Altar Rosary Society, she was a Eucharist minister and brought communion to the home bound. A member of the R.C.I.A., Carrie sponsored 10 young people into the church. Carrie was also a past president of the Draper Music Mothers. Predeceased in 1992 by her husband Joseph D. Marocco. Also predeceased by brothers, Ralph, Jim, Jerry and sisters, Rose and Jennie. Carrie is survived by her children Patricia A. Marocco of Rotterdam and her son Joseph P. Marocco (Alice) of Scotia, grandchildren; Joseph M. Marocco and Maria Brousseau, great grandchildren; Robert, Matthew and Justin Brousseau and Olivia Marocco, sister; Anne DeMeo of Schenectady and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held Tuesday March 29th at 9:45 am at Bond Funeral Home, Broadway & Guilderland Ave., Schenectady, NY followed at 10:30 am at Our Lady Queen of Peace, 210 Princetown Road, Schenectady where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. Calling hours will be held Monday night from 6 to 8 pm at the funeral home. Interment in St John's Cemetery, Schenectady, NY The family wishes to thank the staff at Baptist Nursing for their many acts of kindness and love shown to Carrie. Contributions may be made in Carrie's memory to a Charity of Choice or to Baptist Nursing Home, 297 N. Ballston Ave., Scotia, NY 12302.
