Carolyn Hermes passed away on December 16th due to complications from an infection.
She was born Carolyn MacEachon in Lockport NY in 1936. She met the love of her life, Peter Hermes, at the University of Buffalo. They married in 1957 and moved to Princetown NY where they raised four children.
Carolyn and Peter owned Hartford Manufacturing for over 20 years. She was a dancer and a musician who played the piano, flute, and recorder, playing the latter most recently with the Lycaeides ensemble. She had a dry biting sense of humor that was often undetected by the less observant. She loved nature, music, reading, dance, cats, dogs, a good laugh, a good meal, good conversation, and, most of all, her family.
She is preceded in death by her husband Peter and her son Dirk. She is survived by her remaining children and their spouses, Bruce, Chandra (Pete), and Scott (Wendy), her grandchildren, Noah and Lillian, and her siblings Jeanne and Malcolm.
Visitation is at Bond Funeral Home in Schenectady, Jan 6 from 4 - 6 with a Celebration of life at 6 PM.
In lieu of flowers, Carolyn would have wanted you to turn off the damn TV and go for a walk in the woods.
