Carlie J. Coolidge (O'Dea) 57, passed away Wednesday April 13th at St Mary's Hospital in Amsterdam. Born in Schenectady, Carlie was the daughter of the late Dr. Robert and Elizabeth (Buckbee) Coolidge and a graduate of Duanesburg High School. The former co-owner of Quest-end Country Crafts for over 30 years with her mother Betty, Carlie had also worked at her dream job with the United States Postal Service in Duanesburg prior to her illness. An avid reader and animal advocate, she was talented artist and a Home Healthcare aide at one time. Carlie was the non wife and life partner of 30 years to Bruce P. O'Dea of Dunesburg and sister of John Coolidge of Troy and Judy Hardwick (Chris) of Arizona. She is also survived by Bruce's dad Leo J. O'Dea of McKownville, NY and her dear friends Gail Willis of Florida, Holly Boss of Schoharie and Cheryl Lennox of Duanesburg along with many nieces and nephews, 9 rescue pets which she considered her children including Gypsy her drinking buddy. A celebration of Carlie's life will be held on Friday evening April 29th from 4 to 8 pm and Saturday April 30th from 10 to 2pm at Bond Funeral Home, Broadway & Guilderland Ave., Schenectady, NY . A private memorial will be held for the family following the the celebration times on Saturday. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 1 Penny Lane, Latham, NY 12110 or to the Animal Protective Foundation of Schenectady, 53 Maple Avenue, Scotia, NY 12302.
