Bryan A. Wotherspoon, 28, of Rotterdam Junction passed away at home on Saturday July 16, 2016. Born in Schenectady, he was the son of Dale and Kellie (Ross) Wotherspoon of Rotterdam Junction. Bryan was a graduate of Schalmont High School and a graduate of Schenectady Community College. He also attended Siena College and SUNY at Albany. Bryan was a standout athlete in high school, in golf, baseball and basketball. At Schalmont, he was a member of the 2006 Sectional Championship Baseball Team. Bryan was also a member of the Gold Medal Baseball Team at the Empire State games in the summer of 2005. He received a scholarship to play baseball at Siena College. Bryan was also very passionate about playing golf. He was a member of the Schenectady Baseball Umpire Association and the Capital District Football Officials Association. He enjoyed always being with family and friends. Bryan is predeceased by one grandmother Sandra Schwager. Besides his parents, he is survived by his grandfathers Charles Ross of Schenectady and Ron Wotherspoon of Florida, his grandmother Jean Johnson of Florida, one sister Rachel Wotherspoon of Watervliet as well as many aunts, uncles and cousins. Funeral Services will be Friday 1PM at the Woestina Reformed Church 1397 Main Street Rotterdam Junction. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Calling hours will be Thursday evening 4-7PM at the Bond Funeral Home 1614 Guilderland Avenue Schenectady. Internment will be in Woestina Reformed Cemetery in Rotterdam Junction. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the Bryan Wotherspoon Memorial Scholarship Fund to benefit the Schalmont Baseball Program at First New York FCU 1879 Altamont Avenue Rotterdam, NY 12303.
