Beverly S Woodruff

July 24, 1924 — December 2, 2006

Beverly Burch Woodruff of Rotterdam died Saturday December 2, 2006 at St Clare's Hospital after a brief illness. Born in Schenectady, she was an honors graduate in 1942 of Mont Pleasant High School. Beverly was employed by the General Electric Company as a secretary for over 35 years before her retirement. She had an infectious laugh and enjoyed a good joke or story. Beverly and her husband Woody enjoyed their first camp at Lake Lauderdale and in later years their camp at Saratoga Lake. She also enjoyed traveling to the beaches in New Jersey. She enjoyed her many shopping trips and lunches with her special friend Susan. She and Woody joined a Cotillion Ballroom Dance Group and attended formal dances at the Hotel Van Colear for several years. She was an avid baseball and Yankees fan and loved attending the musicals at Mohonasen High School. She will be missed by her family and friends. Beverly was predeceased in 2001 by her husband Charles F. (Woody) Woodruff who she married June 18, 1948, her parents, John and Helen Burch, her brother and sister-in-law, Byron and Ruth Ostrander and her brother Thomas Burch. Survivors include two brothers, James and Jack Burch, her nieces and nephews, Susan and Michael McDonough of Hoosick Falls, Timothy and Patty Burch of Menlo Park, CA, Laurel and Richard Straight of Rotterdam, Marilyn and Roger Dillon of Gansevoort, Daryl and Nancy Ostrander of Niskayuna and Russell Ostrander of Rotterdam, her dear friends Susan and Richard Leahy of Ballston Spa and many great nieces and nephews, great-great nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday afternoon December 6, 2006 at 2 pm at Bond Funeral Home, Broadway & Guilderland Ave, Schenectady with a calling hour being held from 1 to 2 prior to the funeral service. Interment in Vale Cemetery, Contributions may be made in her memory to a charity of your choice.
