Rotterdam - Beverly J. Martino, 89, of Rotterdam, NY, peacefully passed away on Friday, April 26th, 2024, coinciding with the birthday of her late beloved husband of 51 years, John J. Martino Jr., adding a poignant final touch to the canvas of her life.
Born in Schenectady, NY, and raised in Ballston Lake, Beverly was the daughter of the late Frank and Bertha(Ernst) Vance. She crossed paths with her husband while both were employed at General Electric in 1954. With him they led an incredibly rich life raising four sons, Guy(Ruth) of Duanesburg, Jeffrey of Chatham Mass., Andrew(Lisa) of Edinburgh NY, and John(Esther) of Albany NY.
During their 51-year journey together, Beverly and John co-owned and operated McLane's Deli and Uncle Danny's Liquor Store. Beverly was a devoted wife, an unwavering pillar of strength, wisdom, inspiration, and support for her oft-errant brood, and simply a true God given gift as a mother. She was a rock-solid honest soul of integrity, nobility, and we all thought - Royalty. We were all so proud to be hers and she will be missed deeply in very many ways.
Surviving her are her sister, Joyce, of Pueblo Colorado , her brother-in-law, Richard (Alberta), of Halfmoon, NY, and her cherished grandchildren: Rachel, David (Lauren), Ryan (Casey), and Kathryn (Jake), along with two lovely great-granddaughters, Natalie and Carmella.
As per Beverly's wishes, no formal services or calling hours will be held. Instead, the family will gather to celebrate the lives of Beverly and John at a private function in the serene beauty of the Adirondacks, a place they both cherished dearly.
In lieu of flowers and cards, contributions to the Lewy Body Dementia Association (LBDA) at 912 Killian Hill Rd., Lilburn, Georgia 30047, would serve as a meaningful tribute in Beverly's memory.
