Bernice Bradt, 91, of Rotterdam passed away on Sunday, October 12, 2014 at Baptist Health Nursing and Rehabilitation in Scotia. Born in Delanson, NY, Bernice was the daughter of the late Ira and Inez (Dare) Auchampaugh. A graduate of Mont Pleasant High School, Bernice later worked as a cashier at Saveway Grocery and P&C Market for 34 years. Bernice was a member of Carman United Methodist Church. She enjoyed bowling and golfing. Bernice was also a member of the Carman Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary and the Daughters of the American Revolution. Besides her parents, Bernice was predeceased by her husband, Nathan Bradt, whom she married June 3, 1941, her brother Ira Auchampaugh and sister Kathleen Pitt. She is survived by her children, Steven Bradt of Aberdeen, WA, Susan Atwell of Ballston Spa and Sylvia Papa (Charles) of Schenectady. Bernice also leaves behind 10 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren. Funeral services for Bernice will be held Saturday October 25 at 11am at Bond Funeral Home, 1614 Guilderland Ave., Schenectady, with a visitation held prior to the service from 10am-11am. Interment will be in Memory's Garden, Colonie. In lieu of flowers, donations in Bernice's name can be made to Carman United Methodist Church, 2530 Hamburg St., Schenectady, NY 12303.
