Audrey L Yanchunis (Taylor)

June 7, 1950 — November 12, 2017

Audrey L. Yanchunis, 67, passed away early Sunday morning November 12th at Saratoga Center for Rehab and Skilled Nursing in Ballston, Spa. Audrey was a lifelong resident of Schenectady County, where she fondly remembered her childhood growing up in the Rotterdam area. She recalled on occasion going to Proctors Theater in Schenectady where she would watch movies all day for 10 cents. She had the highest praise for her dad Charles Taylor, always recounting his tremendous sense of humor and constant ability to bring fun and joy to those who knew him. She vividly recalled how much her mother Margaret Taylor (Vedder) and father respected each other and loved their family. Audrey worked at Northstar Bank in Schenectady as a bookkeeper and for Schenectady County as an examiner in the health and human services office for over 20 years. Audrey was active with the Rotterdam and Saratoga Fraternal Order of Eagles and served as an officer in the women's auxiliary. She leaves behind Donald Yanchuins her loving husband of ten years. Additionally, she was a lifelong friend to many special people to include Mike and Kathy Mullins, Dorothy and Matthew Kritz, John and Linda Harlan, Don and Janette Davidson and Donna Penniston. Her work family included: Ruby and Bawan Karn, Dean Tessitore, Garry Fisher, Cindy Chandler, Tina Park and many others. Furthermore, Audrey had four children, Amy Hill (Krizmanich) (spouse Corey), Lisa Malone (Krizmanich), Eric Yanis (spouse Stephanie) and Heather Yanis (fiancé Brian). Additionally, she loved and cared for Michael Yanis and her step-son, Donald Yanchunis, Jr. She was a proud grandmother to Terrell, Alissa and Corey Hill Jr., James Napier, Audrey Corsi and great grandmother to Caleb Hill. Other family members include her brother Charles Taylor Jr. (spouse Agnes) and sisters Roseltha and Marjorie Taylor and numerous nieces and nephews. Audrey's family would like to give special thanks to her cancer care team: Dr. Susan Weaver, Dr. Christopher Dolinsky, the staff at Ellis, Albany Medical Center and especially Saratoga Center for Rehab for their exceptional patient care. A visitation will be held from 5-8pm on Thursday, November 16th at Bond Funeral Home, Broadway & Guilderland Avenue, Schenectady, NY. Funeral services will be held on Friday the 17th at 11am at the funeral home. Interment will be in Evergreen Memorial Park in Colonie, NY with a reception following at the Rotterdam Eagles Club.
