Arthur C Everetts Jr

November 23, 1930 — March 9, 2016

Arthur C. Everetts Jr. 85 passed away peacefully Wednesday March 9th at Ellis Hospital. Born in Schenectady, Arthur was the son of the Late Arthur and Anna Martha (Voss) Everetts Sr. and a graduate of Scotia Schools. A former employee of the General Electric Company, Arthur later worked as the department manager in Home Décor for the former Two Guys Department Store for over 20 years. Arthur retired as a supervisor in the housekeeping department at the Glendale Nursing Home where he worked for over 10 years. A member of the former Our Saviors Lutheran Church in Rotterdam, Arthur was a former Church Counsel President, a member of VFW Post 1895 Men's Auxiliary and an avid bowler with ties to many bowling leagues in the Schenectady area. An extremely patriotic man, Arthur was truly proud of the over 60 year's service his children and grandchildren have given to our country in the United States military. Predeceased in 2009 by his beloved wife of 55 years, Geraldine (Weed) Everetts, Arthur is survived by his three children; Charles Everetts of Tyrone, NY, Ginger Everetts Kusek (John) of Schenectady and Arthur C. Everetts III (Dawn Truelove Everetts) of Rotterdam, his grandchildren; Robert Everetts (Reva) of Columbus, OH, Heather Proffitt (Paul) of Midlothian, VA, Dannielle Parmatier (Michael) of Rotterdam, SGT. Benjamin Butler (Bree) of Ft. Irwin, CA, Jonathan Butler of Schenectady and Brandon Hertal, his great grandchildren; Cheyenne,Grace Lynn and Britton Proffitt ,Olivia Everetts and Bella Parmatier; a sister-in-law, Katherine Everetts of GA as well as many nieces and nephews. Arthur was also predeceased by his brother Robert Everetts and sister; Dorothy Giradot. A celebration of Arthur's life will be held on Saturday March 12th from 1 to 5 pm at V.F.W. post 1895, 609 Draper Avenue, Schenectady, NY. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made in Arthur's memory to the VFW Post 1895, 609 Draper Avenue, Schenectady, NY 12306 or the American Cancer Society, 1 Penny Lane, Latham, NY 12110 or to the Animal Protective Foundation of Schenectady, 53 Maple Ave, Schenectady, NY 12302.
