Our family deeply mourns the loss of our beloved wife, mother, and grandmother, Arlene D. Kehoe who passed away on April 13, 2022, at Kingsway Arms nursing Center in Schenectady, NY.
She was born May 16,1935 to parents Ernest and Angelina DeCarlo in the city of Schenectady. She was the 65-year wife of Martin J. Kehoe Jr. and the mother of Martin III (Lori), Randall, Amy Marie Lis (Peter) and Jeffrey all residing in the Capital District.
Arlene graduated from Draper High School in Rotterdam, where she met her future husband, Marty. She was very active in sports at Draper and was captain of the cheerleading squad. She next received her B.A. in Physical Education at Russell Sage College and later earned her master's degree in that field at Ithaca College.
She was the high school girl’s Physical education instructor at Draper High School, where she was a long-time track and field coach for the girls’ team. Arlene finished her teaching career at Mohonasen Central School District after Draper and Mohonasen combined.
She was a member of many organizations including the Ladies of the Rotterdam Elks (L.O.R.E.), the County Retired Teachers Association, the Jolly Corks Golf league, St Paul’s Ladies Auxiliary the Court of St Catherine, a former member of the Red Hat Society and a 25-year usher captain at Proctors
Some of Arlene’s passions and pastimes included Fine Italian cooking sewing, gardening, swimming, tenting, camping, the theatre, travel and golf.
She was predeceased by her parents and infant brother Ernest Jr. She is also survived by her granddaughter Rowan Kehoe, nieces and nephews, John Kehoe Jr., Kelly Kehoe, Daniel Reynolds Jr., Christine Hartter and Michael Reynolds and her sister and brother-in-law Christine and Daniel Reynolds Sr.
A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Thursday morning April 21st at 9 am at St. Paul the Apostle Church, 2777 Albany Street Schenectady, NY, Relatives and friends are invited to attend.
Interment in St Joseph’s Cemetery, Schenectady, NY
